On World Press Freedom Day, May 3rd 2015, Finland ranks number one in press freedom index for the fifth year in a row. Quite an achievement for a country where the old saying “speech is silver, but silence is gold” is widely practiced. And, where the volume of media content available to the public is in decline due to growing competition, layoffs, and digitalisation fiercely shaping the future of media.
