Growth Takes Place In Small Steps

Practical Practice Management

I think most of us want to continue to grow in our personal and work life. There is much to be said for stretching your mind and learning new things. Growth takes risk, stretching our normal boundaries, and sometimes it can cause feelings of fear, stress and anxiety.

Is the risk of these difficult feelings worth the benefits of the growth it may bring us? I am of the belief that it is.

When we step out of our comfort zone and choose to explore the “new” the benefit of learning and growth of knowledge can take us to new experiences we never knew existed.

Below are a few other of the benefits of choosing growth over comfort of where you are now.

  • When we choose a growth mindset, we begin to break free of our normalcy. We become more productive able to deal with new things easier and find…

Dwell On Good Things

Practical Practice Management

It is so easy to get off track.  One minute we are telling ourselves how thankful and blessed we are and then our mind thinks of something and we immediately head down the road of negative thoughts.

It is a battle one that we must keep our shield up and ready to conquer at a moment’s notice.  But we must remember the more we train our mind the easier the battle does get.  Remember dwell on good things 🙂

Happy Friday my friends, best wishes to you for good thoughts today!

As They Say… One Step At A Time Makes The Difference!

Practical Practice Management

So often we set health goals for ourselves and then fail to keep them.  Why does this happen?  Most of the time it is because we set unrealistic expectations for what we can do, want to do, and have time to do.

If we just would take the time to look at things in a longer term goal and not be so hard on ourselves (unless it is life threatening) we can achieve what we really want for our health.

Did you know just by adding approximately 500 steps a day walking is about 1/4 of a mile?  What if you added an extra 500 steps each day for seven days?  Then possibly 2-3 weeks later added an additional 500 steps a day? Over a period of several months you would be walking a few miles a day without much effort.

Think of ideas like parking at the back of…

Wisdom From Wooden

Practical Practice Management

Good morning! Today I wanted share a couple of my favorite John Wooden quotes with you.

Mr. Wooden was such an inspiring man, yet so humble and caring. His wisdom will live on forever.

He wrote so many amazing great books on leadership with enough pearls of wisdom to fill your treasure chest!

“Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.”

“If you’re not making mistakes, then you’re not doing anything. I’m positive that a doer makes mistakes.”

Take some time to ponder these quotes today and see what wisdom you can glean from them.

Happy Thursday to you all!
